Okay, so January was National Soup Month, but (surprisingly) the people on the holiday scheduling committee decided that soup needed more attention. Today is Homemade Soup Day!
These are my top soups that I like to make from scratch:
Broccoli Cheddar with Sausage
Beef Vegetable
Salmon Corn Chowder
What is your favorite soup to enjoy on a cold rainy day? If you have any leftovers, take some to work in your insulated food jar or travel tumbler:
Across the U.S. and Canada today, people will be eagerly watching the news to see if Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow or not. It’s a funny superstition, but one that has persisted since the mid-19th century.
What’s your vote?
Will he see his shadow, foreshadowing 6 more weeks of winter?
Or will he not see his shadow, bringing on the spring season?
(If he doesn’t see his shadow, that means it’s a cloudy day and will most likely need one of these engraved flashlights) –>
The average person doesn’t typically use an architect scale ruler– we tend to stick to just a regular ol’ ruler or tape measure. To be honest with you, I hadn’t even heard of these unique rulers until just a few years ago!
What do you think their best features are?
Ability to quickly translate the measurements on a blueprint
They are small and portable (ie: pocket-friendly!)
They come in both rigid and flexible styles
Bonusfeature #4: They can be imprinted with your company’s logo!
Did you make a New Year’s resolution to eat healthier? One way to keep this promise up all year long is to start drinking healthy, detoxifying green juices. They will give you much needed nutrients and energy to keep you going all day long.
Top ingredients to include in your recipe:
Dark leafy greens: Spinach or kale
Veggies: Cucumber, celery
Fruits: green apples, avocado
Spice it up with: Lime, ginger, jalapeno
Your first jab at making a green juice might not be perfect, so play with the proportions of the ingredients to make the flavor how you like it. Or, if you don’t want to invest in a juicer, go ahead and grab a freshly made bottle at your local grocery store or coffee shop. Once you find a recipe you like, keep it cold in any of these travel tumblers and go about your day feeling refreshed and healthy!
Is handwriting becoming obsolete? These days, everyone spends so much time typing away on their phones, tablets, and computers. Do we even remember how to hold a pen and write a note? Today, on National Handwriting Day, let’s strive a little harder to start writing more personalized notes.
But even so, how else can you write down a note while you’re on your phone or computer than by grabbing a pen and actually writing it down? What better way to keep your company on your customer’s brain than by giving them personalized pens to keep at their desks.
Anyone who is sitting at their desk will notice those personalized pens with your company logo printed on them. If they need your company’s phone number in a jiffy, the easiest way for them to find it is by grabbing that personalized pen with your phone number already printed on it.
What better way to treat your customers today and stay on their minds all year than with any of these personalized pens.
I bet this week is going to be a doozie, so I think I might just unplug the TV and not read the news online either. I need a detox from all of the social and political unrest that is consuming the news headlines daily.
Most pet lovers don’t need a special day as an excuse to dress up their fur babies, but if you do- today is the best day to do it- it’s National Dress Up Your Pet Day.
Are you going the traditional route and dressing your Dachshund up as a hot dog? Or does your lizard desire to be a ballerina? Maybe you have a whole herd of pets and they’ll each be a different superhero? I bet your beagle would be a good-looking Batman.
Mmmm… what better way to warm up in the winter months than to eat a cozy, hearty soup? January is dubbed National Soup Month, so how about making a different one each week?
On my menu this week is Broccoli Cheddar Soup, which will stay warm in my travel tumbler or travel Thermos food jar if I need to eat lunch on-the-go.
Whom do we rely on to protect our communities day and night? Our law enforcement officers are the dedicated people who put their lives at risk to keep our society safe. Today is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day (L.E.A.D.), a day that gives us the opportunity to thank our hard-working law enforcement officers by recognizing the sacrifices they make daily.
