Engraved Flashlights Will Light Up “Self-Promotion Month”

Self-promotion Will Make You Successful
Self-promotion Will Make You Successful

October is “Self-Promotion Month”, according to NationalDayCalendar.com. This “Month” was started by Debbie Allen, an international self-employed business speaker. By the nature of her business, she must promote herself in order to make a living. Based on her philosophy, we offer these tips on promoting yourself, if you are an entrepreneur.

  1. Keep your eyes open to new ideas. Other people can give you tips on how to promote your business better.
  2. Ask your customers to refer you to their friends. Don’t be shy about this.
  3. Make new contacts. Join the chamber of commerce and go to all their business parties.
  4. Be an opportunist. If you sense a deal, jump on it. If you sell only donuts, and some of your customers ask about peanuts, get into the peanut business, also.

You already have a captive audience. If you give them what they want, you will increase the size of your business.

  5. Improve yourself in your personal life, and that success will carry over into your business life. Examples are joining the church choir, developing a hobby, volunteering with civic groups.
  6. Pass out engraved flashlights with your company logo. They will last a lifetime, and so will the name of your company.

It’s that time of year again. The month of October is “National Breast Cancer Awareness Month”. Let’s eradicate this type of cancer by reminding every woman to do a self exam once a month, and to regularly get a mammogram according to her doctor. About 12% of the women in the United States will develop breast cancer in their lifetime.

If you own a business, you can call attention to this issue by giving a Maglite engraved with your company logo to all your employees.

The 3rd week in September is National Singles Week. Do you still “carry a torch” for someone that “got away”? If you do, make sure it is a Maglite torch. Promotional Maglites are the best flashlights that were ever made. They are sturdy because of the solid aluminum barrel. They are dependable because of the rubber O rings that keep out moisture. They are popular the world over, because they will never fail you.

Some things are habit-forming, like potato chips, beer, peanuts, long showers, afternoon naps. Other things are addicting, like Promotional Maglights. Here are my reasons:

  1. They are made in America.
  2. They seem to last forever, because of a sturdy aluminum barrel and durable switching mechanism.
  3. They come in many colors, to blend with our company logo.
  4. The laser engraved imprint lasts forever. It won’t scratch off.
  5. They are popular world-wide.
  6. The LED bulbs are extremely bright.
  7. Some models are re-chargeable.

How to Get Your Maglite Engraved the Modern Way

Maglite Engraved the Old Fashioned Way
Maglite Engraved the Old Fashioned Way

We have come a long way in getting your Maglite engraved with your logo. Before laser engraving, marking metallic objects was done with a mechanical “scratcher”. Jewelers used to do it that way, and may still do it. I don’t know. It’s cheaper than buying a laser engraving machine.

Today, many Maglites come in color that is anodized onto the aluminum barrel. The laser cuts through this anodized layer, exposing the bare whitish aluminum. This results in your white logo neatly placed on a colored barrel.
