Today marks the 79th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Forever “a date which will live in infamy,” it was a day that caught our country by surprise and lit a fire that only the Allies would be able to extinguish.
This weekend you can honor those killed and injured in the attack by:
With 20% of the U.S. population—about 60 million people—living in rural areas, you would think that they would have equal access to the healthcare that the residents of urban areas do.
But did you know that residents in rural areas are more likely than residents of urban areas to die from heart disease, cancer, stroke and chronic lower respiratory disease?
Today is National Rural Health Day, a day where we applaud the ongoing efforts, contributions, and collaborations occurring in rural communities to address the unique challenges in accessing and delivering health care services.
Help your community showcase the efforts of rural healthcare providers, hospitals, and clinics today by organizing any of these activities at your office:
Staff luncheon with keynote speaker from rural healthcare system
Group fitness activity/organized run to promote a healthy lifestyle
What is the bravest thing you’ve ever done? For a lot of us, that might be something as minute as killing that large spider in the corner of your bathroom. Or maybe you are a brave woman who has gone through childbirth (or you are the brave husband who stood beside her). Bravery has many faces. For a very special group of Americans, the bravest thing they’ve done is protect and defend our country in times of war.
Today is Veterans Day, a very special day in which Americans celebrate and honor all military veterans. The holiday originated as Armistice Day in 1919, as it honored the ending of WWI on the 11th hour of 11th day of 11th month in 1918. But in 1954, after the end of WWII, Armistice Day was renamed Veterans Day in order to honor American veterans of all wars, not just those who fought in WWI.
What better way to celebrate and thank our veterans than with an American flag mini Maglite flashlights. Handing them out at your company or town’s Veterans Day celebration will brighten up everyone’s day.
It’s pretty safe to say that we’ve entered the 2020 Holiday Season. What will your Thanksgiving and Christmas look like this year? COVID has put quite a damper on the holidays, but I’m sure we can figure out some modified ways to celebrate.
As you’re planning your company’s holiday gift list, don’t forget to include this #1 pipe diameter tape measure! ——>
Golfers nationwide will be celebrating second chances today on National Mulligan Day. In golf, a mulligan happens when a player gets a second chance to perform a shot that went wrong. Don’t we all need that in our daily lives?
This week when you’re on the fairway with your customers, think about how you can advertise with golf gifts with your logo. Need matching golf shirts for an upcoming tournament? What about a custom golf ball set? Your customers will appreciate any golf gift with your logo you can think of.
No do-overs needed.
Good luck out there on the golf course- Here’s to more birdies and less bogeys!
Our country would not have the food and supplies it needs without our loyal and hard-working agriculture community. America’s farmers get their own special day today, on National Farmer’s Day.
How can we recognize our wonderful farmers?
Buy local products
Have your company send local farmers Maglite flashlights engraved with the name of their farm
As our minds drift back to elementary American history lessons tomorrow, one can only think, “Did Christopher Columbus have access to an architect scale ruler in his day?”
Okay, sure, that’s probably not the first question that pops to mind when you think about Columbus Day. But surely, Columbus must have possessed a ruler of sorts to help measure his ships, even if it wasn’t an architect scale ruler.
One of the biggest advancements in lighting technology our generation has seen is the development of LEDs. Light-emitting-diodes have a long list of benefits in comparison to their predecessor, the incandescent bulb.
Produce light 90% more efficiently than incandescent bulbs
LED Maglite flashlights, which are designed, engineered, and produced in California, are leaders in LED flashlight manufacturing. From their mini versions, to their larger models, there is an LED Maglite flashlight for everyone. What better way to celebrate National LED Light Day than to find your favorite one!
Why do we call the diameter tape measure a calculator? Because when you wrap it around the circumference of a pipe or a post, it “calculates” the outside diameter instantaneously. It’s a calculator that never slows down because it doesn’t use batteries. The special scale is in inches or millimeters, and it is stretched out by the factor of pi (3.14159). That’s how it does it for you.
There doesn’t need to be a national holiday to remind us all that buying products made in the USA is one of the best ways to support our country. There are so many benefits, including but not limited to:
Increased jobs for Americans
Up-close quality control
Less middlemen
Less transportation & fuel costs
So today, on National Manufacturing Day, don’t forget to support our local companies and workers and buy products made in the USA.
