There’s been a lot of buzz lately about ditching single-use plastic straws for good. But have you ever tried the alternatives? Paper straws disintegrate within minutes of you taking your first sip. Glass and stainless steel straws can be pricey.
How about we just try skipping straws altogether? Any of these travel tumblers will easily help you and your customers make the switch today on #SkiptheStrawDay:
Nowadays so many people live in urban areas, that we tend to forget about all of the farming communities that thrive throughout our country. This week is Future Farmers of America Week, a time to give thanks to our current farmers while looking forward and supporting the future generations of agriculturists.
Did you know…
Future Farmers of American (FFA) began in 1928 by a small group of farmers
Now there are around 700,0000+ youth members
FFA Week began in 1948, recognizing George Washington’s background as an agriculturist and farmer
It was formed “to prepare future generations for the challenges of feeding a growing population”
These future generations recognize that farming encompasses many other fields, such as biology, chemistry & engineering
Have you ever seen pictures of the extravagant Mardi Gras parades and wondered what exactly it is that they are celebrating? Is it just an excuse to have a wild parade and to party all day? Not at all- there is actually quite a bit of history behind this fanciful day:
Dating back to perhaps the 1st century BC, Christian countries have been celebrating Mardi Gras
Other names for this day: Shrove Tuesday, Fat Tuesday (the English translation of Mardi Gras)
It is the day before Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent
Celebrated as the last day of indulgence before the fasting season of Lent begins
How can you indulge your employees and customers today? Any of these engraved flashlights will do the trick:
Happy Presidents’ Day! Today isn’t just a day to celebrate Washington, Lincoln, and the presidents of generations past, but also a day to celebrate the presidents of our generation.
Did you know…
In 1885 George Washington’s birthday became a federal holiday
In 1971 the holiday’s name changed to “President’s Day”
Under the Uniform Monday Holiday Act in 1971, the government changed many federal holidays from specific days to a series of predetermined Mondays, creating more 3-day weekends for workers.
This Valentine’s Day many people will go the easy route: flowers, candy, chocolates, a thoughtful card. Don’t get me wrong, those are all sweet and will be appreciated by your loved one.
But… what if they actually want one of these tally books? They’ll feel truly loved if you add one to their gift bag today-
Even though it’s the middle of winter, the birds don’t seem to mind too much. They can sense that spring is around the corner and are just as eager as we are for the warmer months ahead.

With many businesses and restaurants temporarily (or permanently) closed, I have spent much of my spare time going outdoors with my family. We go on hikes and walks whenever we have the chance. Today is Play Outside Day, so take this as a sign to get out there and enjoy some fresh air. Take a deep breath and let your worries float away.
(And I would suggest taking one of these promotional Maglights with you in case it gets dark while you’re out!)
February is American Heart Month, a month where we all should put a little more time and focus on our heart health and preventing heart disease.
Cardiovascular disease is one of the lead causes of death in the United States, and it is a condition that can be prevented by making more healthy lifestyle choices.
Be physically active (the NIH recommends 30 minutes, 5 days a week)
Eat healthier (increase intake of fruits, veggies, whole grains, while reducing sodium, saturated fat & sugar intake)
Track your heart health stats (talk to your doctor about your blood pressure, weight, and cholesterol goals)
The best way to check off this list and hold yourself accountable? Have your family, friends, and coworkers be your support team. Share healthy recipes at work and have a cookoff competition! See who can log the most steps on your team walks! Get the whole group matching red Maglite flashlights so that you can all go on walks or runs no matter the time of day!
Okay, so January was National Soup Month, but (surprisingly) the people on the holiday scheduling committee decided that soup needed more attention. Today is Homemade Soup Day!
